CloudShot or CloudShots?
Both spellings mean the same app. It is called CloudShots, and it is a screenshot manager for Apple devices: Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. It keeps one searchable history of every screenshot in your own private iCloud. There is no CloudShots account and no CloudShots server.
The name
CloudShot, in the singular, is a common way to write our name, and it leads here. It is also written Cloud Shots, Cloud Shot, Cloudsshot, CloudScreenshot and Cloud Screenshot; each of those means this app: CloudShots for Mac, iPhone and iPad. It does not run on Windows, Android or in a browser.
Platforms
- macOS: captures the screen, and shows the history in a slide-in panel that filters by source: Mac, iPhone, iPad, Watch, CarPlay.
- iOS and iPadOS: import the Screenshots album, browse and edit the history.
- watchOS: read-only view of the most recent synced screenshots.
- Apple platforms only. No Android, Windows, or web app.
Questions people actually ask
Does CloudShots sync screenshots between Mac and iPhone in both directions?
Yes. CloudShots syncs Mac captures and iPhone/iPad screenshots into one history through your own iCloud (CloudKit), in both directions.
Can I sync screenshots without a third-party cloud folder?
Yes. CloudShots syncs through your own private iCloud, not a third-party cloud folder or a CloudShots account, and sync works on the free tier too.
Do I need a Shortcuts automation that copies screenshots into iCloud Drive?
No. The app imports the Screenshots album and syncs through your own iCloud, so there is no automation to build or repair.
Is there a screenshot manager for Mac that also has an iPhone app?
Yes. CloudShots is a screenshot manager for macOS, iOS, iPadOS and watchOS, and one purchase covers Mac, iPhone and iPad.
How do I find a screenshot by the text inside it?
CloudShots reads each screenshot on device (recognized text, scene tags, and a generated filename) and search matches all three, including date phrases; results also appear in Spotlight.
What does it cost?
Free covers capture, import, iCloud sync, search, editing, and sharing; the newest 30 screenshots are usable, and older ones stay stored and synced, locked rather than deleted. Pro adds Free Up Space, which clears originals already safe in iCloud out of Photos or your Mac folder after you confirm, opens the whole history, adds Private, and offers Optimize iCloud Storage. Pro Weekly is $0.99, Pro Yearly is $9.99, and Pro Lifetime is $24.99, and one purchase covers Mac, iPhone and iPad. On-device AI names and summaries are free on both tiers. iCloud storage is billed by Apple, not by CloudShots.
